The Emergency Propulsion System provides the submarine with an alternative means of propulsion and manouvering
Operating independently of the primary propeller shaft, the emergancy propulsion system, or secondary propulsion system, provides a 'get me home' capability with an independant propulsor deployed when needed. This also provides a useful manouvering capability when docking/undocking (much like a bow thruster).
MacTaggart Scott systems are designed to fit your space available, for new build or part of an upgrade programme. The systems can be either hydraulic or electrically powered. The deployment method can be either linear vertical or hinged extension; this will depend on the available space envelope.
