MacTaggart Scott are looking to recruit an Electrical Team Leader to work within our Assembly department.



This role reports directly into the Production Supervisor. The purpose of the role is to provide line management for the Production Electricians but also to take a hands on role in completing electrical assignments.


Duties will include:

  • Effective communication and line management of direct reports.
  • Effective communication and input into management meetings.
  • Assisting electricians with workload which can include electrical assembly, terminating cabling, wiring assemblies, testing equipment using controls and drives.
  • Supporting test activities including wiring for test, performing tests IAW TIS, Customer FAT.
  • Organising their production cell in accordance with the demands of the work-to-list.
  • Ensuring that each member of the team understands the need to achieve the standard time set for each operation.
  • Ensuring that all work processed is to the required quality standard.
  • Working with the Production Management & Planning teams to implement methods to improve efficiency and quality whilst reducing costs and production lead times.


Essential skills, experience, and knowledge requirements:

The successful candidate must;

  • Be a qualified and experienced electrician – time served with strong electrical knowledge.
  • Be able to work on various mechanically operated systems, preferably within moderate to heavy engineering disciplines.
  • Be able to read drawing packs.
  • Be able to use Microsoft packages, administrative skills.
  • Have good Communication skills.
  • Be able to use own initiative.
  • Have management experience at supervisory level.
  • City and Guilds, Scotvec, or equivalent academic qualification.
