MacTaggart Scott Australia

Supporting the Royal Australian Navy

MacTaggart Scott has proudly supported the Royal Australian Navy since its formation in 1913. For over 100 years MacTaggart Scott has had equipment in service with the Royal Australian Navy.

This proud tradition continues today with key systems of the navy’s Collins Class submarine and Canberra Class LHD being supplied by the Company.

MacTaggart Scott Australia was formed in 2011. Its prime role is to support  Australian operators of MacTaggart Scott equipment.

Initially focussed on support of Collins and Canberra Class vessels, MacTaggart Scott Australia has expanded its capability through development of an Australian supply chain and participation in local research & development projects.

In June 2021, MacTaggart Scott Australia moved into new premises at Woodville South Australia. The steady expansion of business in Australia has necessitated increased workshop space. The purpose-designed facilities provide the company with enhanced capability to support maintenance and repair of Collins Class equipment and the aircraft lifts supplied to the two ALHD (Australian Landing Helicopter Dock) vessels.

Office accommodation makes space available to increase the in-country design team for current sustainment and future business, and to manage the support business. There are extensive test facilities, including a clean room and a pressure vessel. A large warehouse provides storage space for vendor-managed inventory and rotable components.  From the Adelaide base, technicians support MacTaggart Scott equipment throughout Australia and the neighbouring region.
